Ransomware Actors Persist, The Path Forward
Christopher Cleary, Former U.S. Navy CISO
Chris Cleary, the Department of the Navy’s principal cyber advisor, left federal service after more than four years in Nov. 2023, according to Federal News Network. The DoN brought in Cleary in 2019 through the highly qualified expert authority as the Navy’s CISO and promoted him in 2020 as the first principal cyber advisor. The promotion came via a term-limited senior executive service (SES) member. Steve Katz was anointed CISO. On Dec. 2, 2023, Katz, 81 years old at the time, passed away.
